Yes. Every GOLD workshop is completely free to attend. GOLD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit funded by grants, partners, and donations, so there is never a fee to join a class or event.
GOLD is designed for adults 50 and older who want to build confidence with technology, stay safe online, and live healthier, more connected lives. No experience is needed, and all skill levels are welcome.
Not at all. Our workshops are hands-on and beginner-friendly, taught in plain English at a relaxed pace. Most people come in feeling unsure and leave with practical skills they can use right away.
GOLD holds in-person workshops at senior centers, libraries, residential communities, and faith and healthcare partners across the Raleigh/Triangle area of North Carolina. Many workshops are also offered online via Zoom so you can join from home.
Workshops cover digital health tools like MyChart, scam and fraud prevention, AI made simple, everyday device skills for phones and tablets, and staying connected with family and community.
